Anaphylaxis

Anaphylactic shock is a severe, immediate, allergic reaction, which can affect multiple organ systems. It is a serious and potentially life threatening reaction. Symptoms of an anaphylactic reaction can include difficulty breathing, swelling of the tongue or throat and even loss of consciousness.

If you suspect that your baby is having an anaphylactic reaction, you should contact the emergency services and take your baby to the hospital immediately.

Luckily anaphylactic shock is relatively uncommon in young babies.
