The two types of CMPA and how it
relates to symptoms

Rapid onset

IgE-mediated symptoms of CMPA can occur within minutes of digesting cow’s milk protein and usually lead to a rash (hives), swelling of the lips and eyelids (urticaria), vomiting and wheezing.

Delayed response

Symptoms of non-IgE-mediated CMPA occur a few hours or even days after the digestion of cow’s milk protein, and often lead to gut and skin-related symptoms.
