Diagnosis
The signs and symptoms linked to CMPA are incredibly diverse, making diagnosis a real challenge. What’s more, every case of CMPA is unique, so it helps to be aware of all the different symptoms you might want to look out for.
Signs of CMPA relate to the number and type of symptoms experienced by your baby. The majority of infants and children with CMPA have 2 or more symptoms in 2 or more organs or systems e.g., digestive and respiratory or skin and digestive.
DIGESTIVE
Up to 60% of affected infants have digestive symptoms
RESPIRATORY
Up to 30% of infants with CMPA have respiratory symptoms
ANAPHYLAXIS
Anaphylactic shock is a much more rare and serious symptom, in which the body undergoes an instant extreme allergic reaction.
SKIN
Up to 60% of affected infants have skin-related symptoms
GENERAL SYMPTOMS
There are lots of general symptoms that can affect children with CMPA, such as Inconsolable crying.
