Dysphagia

Dysphagia

Dysphagia is one of the symptoms that can occur (along with several others) in infants with cow’s milk-related functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) (Al-Beltagi et al 2022).

It is commonly a persistent, recurrent gastrointestinal symptom seen for example in patients with eosinophilic esophagitis (EE) (Reed & Dellon 2019).

In a review of the evidence from North America and Europe, they reported dysphagia to be the most common symptom in children with EE along with emesis and abdominal pain (Shaheen NJ et al 2018).
